What is Dermapen 4 and what is it used for?
Dermapen 4 is the professional microneedling device made by Dermapen World, the Australian brand that specialises in microneedling, and it is only available to authorised clinics. It uses a sterile 16-needle cartridge and AOVN technology (Advanced Oscillating Vertical Needling): the needles enter and leave the skin vertically at high speed, creating thousands of fine, even micro-channels without dragging or tearing the tissue.
These micro-channels trigger the skin's natural repair process: collagen and elastin production increases and the skin renews itself from within. The active ingredients we apply during the session also penetrate far better, so each treatment is tailored to what your skin needs: texture, scars, pigmentation, firmness or radiance.

How is it done?
Each Dermapen 4 session is planned around your skin and your goal.
Initial assessment
We assess your skin, your history and your goals to choose the right depth, speed and active ingredient.
Procedure
We cleanse and prepare the skin and pass Dermapen 4 over each area, adjusting depth and speed while applying the chosen active cocktail.
Recovery
Redness similar to mild sun exposure is normal and usually fades within 1 to 3 days. Avoid make-up for the first 24 hours and protect your skin with a high-factor sunscreen.
Results
The skin looks brighter within a few days. New collagen forms over the following weeks, so texture, firmness and scars improve progressively with each session.

Is Dermapen 4 only for rejuvenation?

No. It is also used for acne scars, enlarged pores, pigmentation, uneven texture and stretch marks. The depth and the active ingredient are chosen according to what you want to improve.
Does it hurt?

You will feel slight discomfort, but it is tolerable. Dermapen 4's vertical needles do not drag the skin, and we adjust depth and intensity to keep the session as comfortable as possible.
How many sessions are recommended?

It depends on your skin and your goal. As a guide, 3 to 6 sessions spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart are usual; scars or stretch marks may need more. We will confirm this at your assessment.
How long is the recovery?

Redness usually fades within 1 to 3 days and you can carry on as normal. For the first few days avoid make-up (for the first 24 hours), sun, swimming pools, saunas and intense exercise.
When will I see results?

Radiance improves within a few days. Changes in texture, firmness, pores and scars are progressive, because new collagen takes a few weeks to form, and they build up from session to session.
Does Dermapen 4 improve pigmentation?

Yes, when combined with depigmenting active ingredients such as tranexamic acid. Improvement is progressive and daily sun protection is essential to maintain it.
Does it work on stretch marks?

Yes. It helps improve their texture, colour and appearance, especially the more recent ones. We can treat the abdomen, thighs, hips or arms.
How is it different from a derma roller?

A roller enters the skin at an angle and can drag it. Dermapen 4 works vertically, with adjustable depth and sterile single-use cartridges, so it is more precise, more even and more comfortable.
Are there situations when it cannot be done?

It is postponed during pregnancy and in cases of active skin infections, cold sores, inflamed acne, open wounds or recent dermatological treatments that sensitise the skin. If you tend to form keloid scars, please tell us at your assessment.
Can it be combined with other treatments?

Yes, it is often part of hydration, firming, pigmentation or rejuvenation protocols to enhance results. We will advise you on the best order and intervals.
Can it be done at any time of year?
