UVA tanning in Nerja
UVA tanning uses ultraviolet radiation to produce a tan. Before a session, we assess whether your skin is suitable and explain the precautions.
What is UVA tanning?
UVA tanning is an artificial tanning system that uses ultraviolet radiation to stimulate melanin production in the skin. Sessions take place in specially designed tanning equipment.
A tan does not protect the skin from sunlight. UV exposure can cause burns, premature skin ageing and skin cancer; no UV tanning session is risk-free.

Benefits
Assessment of skin type and suitability
Protective goggles throughout the session
Exposure times adapted to the equipment and your skin
Clean skin without make-up or perfume
Check medicines that may increase sensitivity to light
Avoid combining sessions with sunbathing
How is it carried out?
Each session begins with a suitability assessment and information about UV exposure.

Initial assessment
We assess your skin type and ask about conditions or medicines that may make UV exposure unsuitable.

Preparation
Remove make-up and perfume, and put on the protective goggles before entering the booth.

Session
Exposure follows the equipment instructions and the time established for your skin type.

Aftercare
Moisturise your skin and avoid additional UV exposure. Seek medical advice if you develop burns or an unusual reaction.
Ask us before booking
Contact us to discuss suitability and precautions before arranging a UVA tanning session.
Frequently asked questions
Your questions about this treatment, your session and aftercare.
How long does a UVA tanning session last?
+
The exposure time depends on your skin type, the equipment and its instructions. It is assessed before the session.
Is it suitable for all skin types?
+
No. Very fair skin, skin conditions and medicines that increase sensitivity to light may make UV tanning unsuitable.
Is eye protection necessary?
+
Yes, suitable protective goggles must be worn throughout the session.
Can I wear make-up or creams?
+
Arrive with clean skin without make-up or perfume, and tell us about any products you use.
Does tanning prepare the skin for the sun?
+
No. A tan does not provide adequate sun protection, and tanning sessions should not be used to prevent sunburn.
Are UVA sessions risk-free?
+
No. UV radiation can cause burns, premature skin ageing and skin cancer. Controlled exposure times do not eliminate these risks.
